Address from The Secretary General

MUNSOPHICAL has been a Model United Nations Conference unlike most others organized entirely by girls and standing firmly in its belief of providing a platform to all those who believe they can make a change in the world that they live in not just through the debate but also by inculcating what results from the debate practically in their lives. This year too, the Organizing Committee is working tirelessly towards making the Conference a huge success and actively matter in the lives of those who are involved in it. We are looking forward to bringing students from all over the country to make a change through debate and discussion during the course of the conference. We also will be working in accordance to theme of this year, which is ‘Youth for Sustainable Change’ and inculcate it through this forum.

 

‘Cultivating Change’, an initiative close to our hearts at Sophia College is one that makes MUNSOPHICAL a special conference. It is through this initiative that we tie up with an NGO and practically do something for those who are less privileged and fortunate than us. Last year, we had visited a village in Maharashtra and taught the less privileged children in collaboration with Teach for India. This year we intend to continue this deed and also extend the application to delegates so as to increase the participation in this effort towards being a catalyst of change.
