It is with both joy and pride that Sophia College for Women launches the beginning of the preparations for our third round of Model United Nations – MUNSOPHICAL 2013. MUNSOPHICAL has now become an annual event, part of the regular College Calendar, yet another feature that makes this College uniquely itself.

It stands witness to the commitment of students, faculty and management to empowerment of women through higher education – showing that, here, education goes beyond the mere imparting of knowledge and enters the realm of critical analysis and upholding of values. Most important of all, there is a definite awareness that we are responsible for each other, for the world in which we live. The theme of the year, “Youth for Sustainable Change,” finds an echo in the MUNSOPHICAL tag line - “Ideas for Change”. I wish Rhea Dewan, the Secretary-General, and all of her team all the very best, as they strive to make this MUNSOPHICAL an unforgettable, even life-changing, experience for all the participants.
