Cultivating change

 

From the moment we wake up to the instant we rest our heads on our pillows, we do several things to get by the day. However, in our busy schedules we fail to pay attention to garbage on the street that was not thrown by us. We often turn a blind eye to a child working in a tea stall. We forget that we are surrounded by a billion others and that one small gesture has the ability to impinge upon the lives of several others.

 

With cultivating change we try to practice humanity. We aim to transfrorm ignorance into awareness.

 

This campaign was started last year by MUNsophical in order to sow the seeds of sustainable change in the society. As a part of the campaign, MUNsophical secretariat visited a village, Rajgurunagar. We imparted knowledge about the concept of Model United Nations and as a follow up we also had sessions on gender sensitivity. We also associated with Teach for India (the NGO) and taught the students of 4th and 5th grade.

 

This year we have bigger plans. Plans that will move out of verbose knowledge and move towards action oriented work. The habit of bringing about a change will be cultivated not just in us but in the people around us.

 

Because the ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who actually do.
